Dancers!! Thank you for a great intensive!! Miyoko Ellen and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and working with all of you on a daily extended schedule. We feel that you all made a lot of progress. Your improvement in your abilities and in your understanding of what you are trying to accomplish with class and dance itself were very gratifying for us as instructors to be part of. Did you enjoyed the Dance History Lessons ? I'm sure the rice crispy crackers helped :)... I hope you take to heart the nutrition information that Lynn Maves was kind enough to share with us. Please try to remember what you have learned for Fall classes :).. Have a great break :). Due to the positive feed back from the Stretch class we have added it to the Fall Schedule..Friday from 3:50-4:50 Just before the Friday Technique Class..
Next Years Intensive Will Be June 20th -30th. See you there !! Robert Miyoko and Ellen
We got safely back to the Dancenter around 10:45 last night after a virtually perfect trip!! Everything went SO well! The classes were great and we shopped, swam, went to Millenium Park, ate good food and saw the sights. The chaperones were great (Joy, Barb Steiner--Kate Bergin's mom, and Linda Power) and it was a fantastic group of girls!
Kim Sagami was so tickled when I told her the girls were from your studio (I had arranged the classes under the name Iowa Youth Ballet, so she didn't know beforehand). She asked me several times to tell you hello and give you her best. She had great rapport with the girls and taught excellent classes. She gave them a lot of helpful corrections. I was so happy with the experience they had with her. We also had a class with other miscellaneous dancers, so they got to see other dancers, which they liked. And we finished with a jazz class with Ronn Stewart (at Joffrey), which they LOVED. He was very good.
It was a GREAT trip! We'll post pics today or tomorrow on Facebook Thanks! Ellen
