Tap
All-American Tap Dance started in the early American Colonies in the 1800s. Since then,
Tap has been taught and refined through the years and has become known as "The Sound of
America Dancing". There are over 150 different steps an rhythms in the American Tap
Vocabulary, however one can enjoy tap from "Day-One". As the rhythm and styles are more
assimilated, the student is taken further and further into the tap vocabulary steps. Tap
can be enjoyed at any level from beginner to more advanced, small child to "Golden Age"
adult (There is a group of performing tap dancers in Arizona that are in their 70's, 80's,
and 90's!! And they look great). Tap is great fun, and good exercise and on the serious
side Tap can be very challenging and rewarding. It all depends on how you want Tap to work
for you. Tap is marvelously versatile that way.
