We are having a competition workshop August third week with competition auditions August fourth weekend. It's your time to be a part of the action. See you there!!!

The Dancenter Dancer competition program is designed for the dancer who enjoys learning a variety of dances and performing these pieces on stage in multiple performance opportunities. The Dancenter Dancers compete at approximately 6 competitions per season. These competitions usually take place from February through early May with the possibility of Nationals during the summer. The competitions take place throughout the Midwest; as close as Des Moines or as far away as Minneapolis or Kansas City. There are many local performance opportunities in which the Dancenter Dancers also participate.

Competition dance gives the dancer an opportunity to learn and perform multiple dance styles, including jazz, lyrical, musical theater, and tap in small group and production settings. Dancers learn about stage presence, showmanship and projecting confidence through the various team performance opportunities. The program gives the dancer the opportunity to develop stronger technique through focused classes aimed at training the students in these various styles. Along with attending the team class(es), enrollment in a Dancenter combination class or XL classes is required of all Dancenter Dancers. Competition classes meet 1-2 times per week depending on the group.

The Dancenter Dancers are part of a team of like minded individuals all striving for the same goal of self improvement. Working as a team and supporting fellow teammates are important values the Dancenter Dancers maintain throughout the season. Dancers learn the importance of teamwork and how much each individual contributes to the success of the whole. All team members do their part to reach for the stars!

DANCENTER DANCER PROGRAM

LITTLE STARS
This is a fun opportunity for 4-5 year olds at the Dancenter. This is an additional 45 minute class each week. Dancers learn 1 very fun dance and perform at 3-4 competitions. This is an exciting opportunity for these "LITTLE STARS" to perform and strut their stuff. A team sweat suit is required. NO AUDITION NECESSARY

ALL STARS
This is an additional 60 minute class each week for the 5-6 year olds. Dancers learn 2 exciting and entertaining dances they will perform at 3-4 competitions. This is a fun opportunity for these ALL STARS to dance on stage and captivate the audience. A team warm up is required. NO AUDITION NECESSARY

THE MINI TEAM IS BACK!
This is for team members in the 6-8 year old age range. These dancers learn 3 dances and perform at all competitions. This is the first opportunity to be a part of the production with the rest of the team. All team member requirements apply.

BOYS, BOYS, BOYS
The growth and strength of our male dancers has been exceptional. This season we will introduce an all male dance to the competition stages. Watch out Central Iowa !!!
